Our growing business is seeking a dedicated and experienced General Counsel to join our team.
As the General Counsel, you will play a crucial role in our company's mission of building beautiful custom homes from concept to completion.

Summary:
The General Counsel will serve as the primary legal advisor to the company and its leadership team.
You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all legal matters, providing sound legal guidance, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
This is a multifaceted role that requires a combination of legal expertise, business acumen, and exceptional communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Litigation Management:
You will serve as the legal counsel in corporate matters and disputes.
Collaborate with external legal counsel and manage all litigation or legal disputes.
Assist in the preparation of legal documentation, responses, and settlements.
Contracts and Agreements:
Actively manage a docket of contract disputes.
Support the implementation of our customer contracts through every phase of the build.
Ensure that our contract is being followed internally and executed with every client.
Identify potential legal risks and propose solutions to mitigate them.
Corporate Governance:
Advise on corporate governance matters and ensure compliance with corporate laws and regulations.
Assist in the preparation and review of corporate documents such as corporate policies and processes.
Intellectual Property:
Protect the company's intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
Oversee the process of registering and enforcing intellectual property assets.
Risk Management:
Work collaboratively with leadership to identify and assess legal risks associated with business operations, personnel, and transactions.
Develop risk management strategies and processes to reduce company liability and promote company culture.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, such as data protection, privacy laws, licensing, and industry-specific regulations.
Ensure our policies and procedures adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
Legal Advice:
Provide timely and strategic legal advice to the leadership team on a wide range of business matters, including contracts, employment law, real estate, land development, finance, and corporate transactions.
Legal Compliance:
Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Assess the impact of legal changes on the company and develop strategies to maintain compliance.
Training and Education:
Conduct internal training and workshops to educate employees on legal matters, compliance, and best practices.
Promote a culture of ethics and legal awareness within the organization.
Qualifications and Skills:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in the Bar Association.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably with a focus on business law or corporate legal matters.
Experience in real estate a plus.
Knowledge of laws, regulations, and legal trends in the home building industry.
Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
Experience in corporate governance, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
